FLAMENCO GUITAR NIGHT

Enjoy an evening of breathtaking performances that span the flamenco spectrum of guitar and song artistry. Flamenco Guitar Night brings together Victoria’s leading flamenco guitarists and local flamenco singers to exchange musical inspiration and creativity on the stage!
Performers include flamenco guitarists Gareth Owen, Juan de Marias, Jake Lee, and Iminah Kani, accompanied by local flamenco singers, Juana Bate and Maria Storzer, and palmera Denise Yeo.

Experience world-class flamenco right here in Victoria! The Flamenco de la Isla Society and Alma de España are thrilled to present 2 Flamenco “Tablao” shows, back-to-back at The Mint Restaurant.
Both shows will feature Gareth Owen, Victoria’s own world-class flamenco guitarist, accompanied by international guest artists Vicente Griego, powerhouse flamenco singer from Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Davide Sampaolo, rhythm master and flamenco percussionist from Vancouver/Rome along with local singers and dancers.
WORKSHOPS
Have you ever wanted to try flamenco guitar, sing flamenco cante, or learn how to play groovy palmas? All of this is possible during this summer’s Victoria Flamenco Music Intensive Workshops! Join local flamenco instructors Veronica Maguire, Gareth Owen, Denise Yeo, and Iminah Kani Amal-Hill, along with guest artists Vicente Griego, cantaor from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Davide Sampaolo, flamenco percussionist from Vancouver/Rome, for a fun and exciting learning experience – let them transport you to Spain!
Wait, there’s one more thing! Keep your eyes and ears open to catch some flamenco pop-ups on Salt Spring Island and in downtown Victoria, Esquimalt, and Oak Bay! Flamenco could pop-up anytime during the Victoria Flamenco Music Intensive – July 16 – 27.
